2026 Fantasy Outlook
When Arvidsson signed a two-year, $8 million contract with Edmonton in the summer of 2024, there was optimism about him putting up big numbers while playing alongside Connor McDavid or Leon Draisaitl. It didn’t play out that way. Instead, Arvidsson was shipped to Boston on July 1, 2025, for just a 2027 fifth-round pick after recording just 27 points in 67 regular-season outings with the Oilers. While expectations were far more modest after that humbling campaign, the 33-year-old rebounded with 25 goals, 29 assists, 175 shots, 24 PIM and 24 hits across 69 regular-season outings in 2025-26. That’s the fourth time in his career that he’s recorded at least 25 goals and 50 points in a campaign, but he's often battled injuries and inconsistency. Fantasy managers should anticipate Arvidsson regressing to about 40 points, given his injury history. Treat anything more than that as a bonus. Read Past Outlooks
Inks two-year deal
Arvidsson (ribs) agreed to terms on a two-year, $10 million contract with Detroit on Wednesday, Elliotte Friedman of Sportsnet reports.
ANALYSIS
Arvidsson certainly cashed in on his 2025-26 campaign in which he generated 25 goals and 29 assists in 69 regular-season games for the Bruins. With his new club, the 33-year-old Swede could push for a top-six role, as well as see time on the power play. As such, Arvidsson should be capable of replicating his numbers from last year and offering solid top-half fantasy value.

When Arvidsson joined Edmonton, there was some hope that he would put up big numbers while playing alongside Connor McDavid or Leon Draisaitl. Arvidsson did end up spending a solid amount of his even-strength minutes with Draisaitl, but rather than elevate his offensive numbers, the opposite happened. Arvidsson finished the regular season with 15 goals and 27 points across 67 appearances. It hurt that he served on the second power-play unit, which led to him getting just three points with the man advantage, but his 5-on-5 production wasn’t anything to write home about either. Arvidsson has recorded at least 59 points on three separate occasions, but that hasn’t happened since 2022-23, and he was dealt to Boston in the offseason, so it would be optimistic to expect a rebound this campaign. It would be better to pencil the 32-year-old in for 20-30 points instead.

Latest Fantasy Rumors
Working on two-year deal
Arvidsson, who ended the year with a rib injury, and the Red Wings are putting together a two-year contract, Emily Kaplan of ESPN reports Wednesday.
ANALYSIS
Arvidsson is coming off a strong 2025-26 campaign with the Bruins, registering 25 goals and 29 assists, including nine power-play points, despite playing in just 69 regular-season tilts. The 33-year-old winger will look to replicate that production in Detroit, where he should be capable of pushing for a top-six role.
