After playing in 52 NHL games for the Pens back in 2023-24, the winger managed just 13 appearances last year, tallying a mere three points along the way. Still, the 26-year-old Finn is coming off a good campaign in the minors, having notched 16 goals and 19 helpers in 48 regular-season tilts for the Baby Pens. Puustinen is probably behind both Ville Koivunen and Rutger McGroarty in the race for an Opening Night roster spot, but he should still be in the mix. It will be perhaps the most important training camp of Puustinen's professional career, as he is in line for a full-time NHL role and could even challenge for a top-six role. The Penguins haven't significantly overhauled their forward complement - adding Anthony Beauvillier while trading away Reilly Smith - which means there will be openings in the top six up for grabs. In his 52 games for Pittsburgh last year, Puustinen tallied five goals and 15 assists, including two power-play points. With a full season under his belt and, perhaps an expanded role, Puustinen could be a sneaky late-round fantasy add with a strong offensive upside.
