Tyson Foerster

Tyson Foerster

24-Year-Old Right WingRW
Philadelphia Flyers
2025 Fantasy Outlook
Foerster struggled with consistency in the 2024-25 regular season, compiling 25 goals and 43 points across 81 appearances. He concluded the campaign with nine goals and 13 points in 12 outings, but a slow start played a significant role in preventing him from being a 50-point producer. Still, Foerster was a decent source of secondary offense while playing alongside Bobby Brink and Noah Cates. The 23-year-old Foerster also logged time on the first power-play unit, earning the second-most goals (six) and points (eight) on the Flyers. He could flirt with the 30-goal mark in 2025-26 and has 45-55 point potential if his role continues to increase. However, he may miss time at the start of the year due to an injury suffered at the IIHF World Championship in May, which could lead to another slow start. Read Past Outlooks

Scores in return from arm injury
RWPhiladelphia Flyers
April 3, 2026
Foerster scored a goal on four shots and added two hits in Thursday's 4-2 loss to the Red Wings.
ANALYSIS
Foerster was initially injured Dec. 1, and he was given a five-month timeline to return after undergoing surgery Dec. 15. He returned faster than expected and was able to play 16:19 in his first game back, scoring the Flyers' first goal just 31 ticks into the second period. Injuries have made this a bit of a lost year for the winger, but he's still amassed 11 goals, 14 points, 45 shots on net, 22 hits, 18 blocked shots, 18 PIM and a plus-7 rating over 22 outings. Foerster will be a candidate for top-six minutes and power-play time while the Flyers try to pull off a long-shot attempt at making the playoffs.

Past Fantasy Outlooks
2024
2023
Foerster was one of four rookies to reach the 20-goal mark in 2023-24. In 77 games with the Flyers last season, he produced 20 tallies, 13 assists, 167 shots on net and 101 hits. Foerster had a sluggish start and cold finish to the year, but there is reason to believe he can improve in 2024-25. He generated 15 goals, 84 shots and nine helpers during a 37-game span from Nov. 28-March 2. He will likely remain in Philadelphia's top six in 2024-25, though his power-play role might be reduced because of the arrival of highly touted rookie Matvei Michkov. The 22-year-old Foerster could reach the 40-point mark in the upcoming season if his consistency improves.
While it was just a cup of coffee in the 2022-23 season, Foerster impressed with seven points in his first eight games. He likely would have seen more NHL time if he hadn't undergone shoulder surgery last fall, but he'll have a great chance of breaking camp with the Flyers in 2023-24. Obviously, the 21-year-old winger is unlikely to challenge for a point-per-game pace, but he's on a team that lacks an established star on offense, which could give him an opportunity to see top-six minutes. Head coach John Tortorella will expect steady defense as well as offense from Foerster, so it's also very possible the young winger will need more time at AHL Lehigh Valley. Keep an eye on Foerster's usage during training camp. If he appears locked into a roster spot for the Flyers, his upside will rise considerably.

Poised to return Thursday
RWPhiladelphia Flyers
April 2, 2026
Foerster was skating in a first-line role in addition to linking up with the No. 1 power-play unit, indicating he'll return from an arm injury against the Wings on Thursday, Jordan Hall of NBC Sports Philadelphia reports.
ANALYSIS
Foerster was originally expected to be sidelined for at least another month, but it seems he will return to action sooner rather than later. With the 24-year-old winger back in the lineup, Denver Barkey will drop to a third-line role while Foerster replaces Noah Cates on the No. 1 power-play unit.
