Trevor Moore

29-Year-Old Left WingLW
Los Angeles Kings
2024 Fantasy Outlook
Moore posted personal bests last campaign, supplying 31 goals and 57 points in 82 contests. It was an impressive bounce-back performance following an injury-shortened 2022-23 season. Moore also established new career highs with 244 shots on net, 58 blocked shots, 92 hits and 17:59 of average ice time in 2023-24. He became a popular waiver addition after registering 13 goals and 22 points through his first 23 outings. Predictably, Moore's scoring pace slowed as the season progressed, and consistency issues cropped back into his game. Still, the California native has become a productive middle-six forward for the Kings while chipping in 14 power-play points over the past two seasons and 12 shorthanded points across the last four campaigns. He likely won't flirt with the 60-point mark again in 2024-25 but staying around the 50-point plateau isn't out of the question. Read Past Outlooks

Slides helper in loss
LWLos Angeles Kings
October 29, 2024
Moore notched an assist and four shots on goal in Tuesday's 4-2 loss to the Sharks.
ANALYSIS
Moore has two helpers over the last three games as he looks to get his offense on track following a slow start to the season. The 29-year-old winger remains in a top-six role with ice time in all situations, so he's in a good position to bounce back. He has three points, 27 shots on net, 11 hits and a minus-2 rating over 10 appearances.

Upper-body injuries limited Moore to 59 contests last season, but when he was in the lineup, he did fine, scoring 10 goals and 29 points. In terms of points per game, that is a decline from 2021-22, in which he recorded 17 goals and 48 points in 81 outings, but it's not a staggering drop. After struggling to find a place in the lineup with Toronto, Moore has proven to be a worthwhile middle-six option with the Kings, and he gets time in all situations. The 28-year-old shouldn't be counted on to be anything more than he's shown before, but a return to the 40-50 point range is plausible so long as he can stay healthy.
Moore was essentially an afterthought from a fantasy perspective at a start of last season, but he quickly emerged as an option in deeper formats. The California native had a career season, posting 17 goals, 48 points, 202 shots on goal, and a plus-20 rating in 81 games. He added a pair of goals and five points in the Kings' brief playoff run. As well as Moore played, the offensive production may not be sustainable. He had just two points with the man advantage all season, which lowers his floor greatly. Moore will again be an asset for Los Angeles, but you can probably do better in your draft.
The Kings as a team didn't have a very good 2020-21 season, but Moore took advantage of the club's rebuilding status to post career-best numbers in goals (10), assists (13), points (23) and shots on goal (88). Moore played in all 56 regular-season games for LA, averaging a healthy 14:32 worth of ice time per night. Moore grew up in the LA suburbs and has looked better during his time with the Kings than at any point during his brief stint in Toronto. Moore isn't a great fantasy option, but he's clearly an NHL regular and that's a victory for both team and player at this point.
Sent west in the Jack Campbell trade last season, Moore scored three goals and five points in 15 games for his hometown club (he was born in the LA suburb of Thousand Oaks) after his arrival. The 25-year-old has been an overachiever every step of the way in his path to the NHL. Not the biggest or the fastest guy on the ice, he has enough skill to turn his plus-plus compete level into production when he gets the chance, and he led the University of Denver to the Frozen Four in his final year of college before helping the AHL Marlies win the Calder Cup in 2017-18. Moore might never be an elite offensive player, but he could carve out a role as a third-line spark plug and emerge as a fan favorite with the Kings.
Moore was never drafted, but he won't be overlooked anymore -- he's the new Zach Hyman. He's tenacious on and off the puck, he has speed and skill, and that more than makes up for his lack of size. Leafs coach Mike Babcock loves hard-working guys who earn their ice time, and Moore does just that. He's a perfect fit for the Leafs' bottom six, but there's also a chance that his dogged determination earns him a third-line role, which could make Moore worthy of a short-term waiver-wire grab if he shows well there.
