Stastney split 2024-25 between the NHL and AHL, putting up just three assists in 23 games with the Predators as well as 17 points in 26 regular-season outings for AHL Milwaukee. Stastney doesn't have an obvious path to NHL minutes out of the gate for 2025-26, so he'll likely get more time with the Admirals in the coming season. At 25 years old, he'd need an extraordinarily strong training camp to challenge Nick Perbix or Nicolas Hague for a third-pairing spot. Stastney is likely to split the 2024-25 campaign between Nashville and AHL Milwaukee as the first year of his two-year contract is a two-way deal. Stastney played 20 games at the NHL level last season, scoring twice while adding two assists. The defenseman was a plus-9 and had 29 blocked shots with Nashville. He was a force in the AHL as well, scoring five goals and adding 15 assists with a plus-27 rating in 44 appearances. Stastney will battle Jeremy Lauzon and Luke Schenn for ice time on the third pairing, but he is unlikely to see enough time on the ice, barring an injury, to warrant a roster spot on your fantasy team.
