2026 Fantasy Outlook
Gostisbehere battled a nagging injury for much of 2025-26, making his return to the 50-point mark all the more impressive. He did it with 13 goals, 37 assists, 18 power-play points, 116 shots on net, 63 blocked shots and a plus-11 rating over just 55 regular-season outings. Gostisbehere has always been more of a power-play specialist, which plays well in fantasy, though his style seems to work well with head coach Rod Brind'Amour and the Hurricanes' system. Gostisbehere carries a bit of injury risk for 2026-27, depending on how his offseason goes. If he's fully healthy to start the year, he's worth a mid-to-late-round pick as a blueliner who can rack up 10-15 goals, 50-55 points and 120-plus shots. Just expect him to miss at least 10 games throughout the season. Read Past Outlooks

Gostisbehere’s second stint with the Hurricanes is off to a good start. He had seven goals and 45 points in 70 regular-season outings in 2024-25, which makes it the fourth straight campaign in which he’s reached the 40-point mark. He might not be among the league’s elite blueliners, but being able to consistently get more than 40 points is no small feat. In Gostisbehere’s case, success with the man advantage is key to his success. His 27 power-play points was the fourth best among defensemen, and he accomplished that despite Carolina finishing 25th in power-play percentage (18.7). At the age of 32, he should have good hockey left in him, so another campaign of 40-50 points is a reasonable expectation.

Latest Fantasy Rumors
Might be available for Thursday
Head coach Rod Brind'Amour hopes Gostisbehere will be able to return from his lower-body injury versus Utah on Thursday, according to Ryan Henkel of The Hockey News.
ANALYSIS
Gostisbehere has missed Carolina's past five games due to the injury, but he was on the third pairing and first power-play unit in Wednesday's practice. He has six goals and 32 points in 35 outings in 2025-26. If Gostisbehere returns for Thursday's contest, Joel Nystrom will probably be a healthy scratch.
