2025 Fantasy Outlook
Wedgewood's time in Nashville lasted all of five games after signing with the Predators as a free agent. He was the first domino to fall in the Avalanche's quest for better goaltending, swapping places with Justus Annunen in a November trade. Wedgewood is a quality backup, and he went 14-6-2 with a 2.32 GAA and a .908 save percentage over 24 appearances in the regular season. With former and current teammate Mackenzie Blackwood also on the roster, Wedgewood doesn't have a particularly easy path to playing time. Still, Wedgewood's performance and the strong team in front of him should make him an option in deep fantasy formats where backup netminders carry value. Read Past Outlooks
Guarding goal again in Game 2
Wedgewood will protect the home goal versus the Wild in Game 2 on Tuesday, Tracey Myers of NHL.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Wedgewood will be given a chance to bounce back after surrendering six goals on 36 shots in Sunday's Game 1. Despite that outing, he has a 1.80 GAA and a .931 save percentage across six playoff contests. The Wild continue to be a formidable foe, but Wedgewood's performance should be a bit more dialed in for this game.

Wedgewood inked a two-year deal with the Preds on July 1 after racking up a 16-7-5 record, 2.85 GAA and .899 save percentage with the Stars in 2023-24. He's the clear No. 2 man, sandwiched between the elite Juuse Saros and the heir apparent Yaroslav Askarov. So, what can we expect? Wedgewood would be in line for no more than 20 starts in Nashville without Askarov nipping at his heels. The Preds may want to give the kid some games. Wedgewood might be a daily option for some managers this season. Nothing more.

Latest Fantasy Rumors
Starting Tuesday?
Wedgewood was working in the starter's crease ahead of Game 2 at home against the Wild on Tuesday, Peter Baugh of The Athletic reports, indicating he'll be between the pipes.
ANALYSIS
Wedgewood looks set to feature in Game 2 despite giving up six goals on 36 shots in a Game 1 victory over Minnesota on Sunday. Officially, head coach Jared Bednar wouldn't confirm his starter, but all signs point to it being the 33-year-old netminder. If Wedgewood struggles again, even if he gets another win, he could be in danger of losing the starting job to Mackenzie Blackwood.
