Since being drafted 21st overall by the Penguins in 2019, Poulin has long been touted as one of the few prospects in Pittsburgh's system. That has changed dramatically thanks to general manager Kyle Dubas. As such, the 24-year-old Poulin is probably in a prove-it year with the organization, having managed just 13 NHL games so far in his career. Still, the Pens are expected to go young this upcoming season, and Poulin is coming off a solid 2024-25 campaign in which he racked up 19 goals and 24 helpers in 57 regular-season outings with AHL Wilkes-Barre/Scranton. If he can show some of that offensive upside in training camp, Poulin should be in the mix for a spot on the big club's Opening Night roster.
