Past Fantasy Outlooks
2025
2024
Honzek debuted in the NHL last season for a five-game sample size at the start of the year before spending the rest of it with AHL Calgary. That didn’t go quite the way he had hoped, picking up just eight goals and 21 points in 54 games. The 16th overall pick in the 2023 NHL Draft, the talent is certainly there, and he brings an enviable 6-foot-4 frame to the table. However, the production at the professional level has yet to match it, and the 20-year-old is likely to start the season in the AHL again as a result of that. Should he perform better in the AHL, that puts him in a good position for a shot at more NHL time this season.

Latest Fantasy Rumors
Headed to Worlds
Honzek will join Slovakia at the 2025 IIHF World Championship, Wes Gilbertson of the Calgary Sun reports Monday.
ANALYSIS
Honzek saw action in just five NHL games this year in which he failed to register a point while garnering six shots, six hits and two blocks. The 20-year-old winger was slightly more effective in the minors, generating 21 points in 52 games, but he'll likely need to bring more to the table next year if he wants to break into the NHL. Representing Slovakia at Worlds should help bolster his resume heading into training camp in the fall.
