Sam Steel

A versatile forward often stuck on the fourth line, Steel managed to have a steady campaign in 2024-25. He earned six goals, 25 points, 89 shots on net, 60 hits and a minus-6 rating over 79 regular-season appearances. Steel has finished between 20 and 30 points in each of the last four years, playing with three different teams in that span. His short-term future is secure, as he has a $2.1 million cap hit for the next two years with the Stars after signing an extension in February. For fantasy purposes, he doesn't really do anything well enough to be valuable, especially while playing center most of the time. Steel can chip in a little offense and may get promoted to a middle-six role on occasion, but he's a streaming target more than anything else for when his scoring heats up. Read Past Outlooks
