Lafferty spent parts of two seasons with the Blackhawks from 2021-23, and after stints with three other teams, he is back with Chicago for the 2025-26 season. The 30-year-old is coming off a tough season with the Sabres, notching just four goals and three assists with a minus-15 rating in 60 games. He didn’t get much ice time when he played, averaging 9:53 per contest. The role he’ll play with Chicago figures to be similar, assuming he cracks the lineup on an everyday basis. The six-year veteran is no longer an offensive threat, so whether or not he has any fantasy value will be strictly determined by whether his physicality ticks up from 2024-25 -- he had just 89 hits last year, compared to 192 in 2023-24.
