2025 Fantasy Outlook
Carrick was a bright spot for the Rangers in 2024-25, as he posted a career-high 20 points over 80 regular-season appearances. He was firmly in a bottom-six role, frequently as the fourth-line center, though his function occasionally changed as the Rangers tried to keep their season on track. Carrick also had 137 hits, 42 blocked shots, 58 PIM and a plus-4 rating. Realistically, there's not much of a fantasy spin for most fourth liners -- Carrick is fine on the ice and adds a bit of grit, but he's not going to produce enough consistent offense to be on most fantasy rosters. He's also going into his age-33 campaign, so don't expect another career year. Read Past Outlooks
Available for Game 3
Carrick (arm) will be an option for Game 3 against Montreal on Sunday, Pierre LeBrun of TSN reports.
ANALYSIS
Carrick could replace Tyson Kozak, who skipped Saturday's practice for maintenance, in Sunday's lineup versus the Canadiens. The 34-year-old Carrick hasn't played since March 31 against the Islanders because of a left arm injury. He had nine goals, 16 points, 75 shots on net and 106 hits across 73 appearances between the Sabres and Rangers during the 2025-26 regular season.

After splitting the 2023-24 season between Anaheim and Edmonton, Carrick made the move to the Big Apple, signing a three-year, $3 million contract with the Rangers. The gritty forward's role figures to be fairly straightforward - dish out hits and offer depth scoring while filling out a bottom-six role. In terms of special terms, Carrick figures to see significantly more ice time with the penalty kill than the power play. All that points to a player with minimal fantasy upside - though he could provide some categorical help in banger leagues that require hits and PIM.

Set to practice Tuesday
Carrick (arm) is apparently further ahead of schedule than anticipated and is expected to rejoin practice Tuesday. So, with good news, he could join our team back in practice tomorrow, which is great news. That would put him a little bit ahead of schedule."
