2025 Fantasy Outlook
O'Reilly has garnered a reputation for his two-way play, which was highlighted by his 2019 Selke Trophy win. He also played a crucial role in St. Louis’ 2019 Stanley Cup championship, winning the Conn Smythe Trophy as a result. Those are amazing lines on his resume, but in terms of steady offense, O’Reilly is very good, but not exceptional. The 34-year-old had 21 goals and 53 points across 79 appearances in 2024-25, making it the 10th time in 12 campaigns that he’s had 50-70 points. O’Reilly also recorded at least 20 goals for the ninth time but has never reached the 30-goal mark. Although he’s getting up there in age, he’s remained relatively healthy, so expect more of the same and draft accordingly. One caveat, though: take him earlier in leagues that value faceoffs -- his 55.7 career winning percentage is superb. Read Past Outlooks
One of each Saturday
O'Reilly scored a goal and added an assist in Saturday's 6-3 win over the Sharks.
ANALYSIS
O'Reilly's tally at 8:28 of the third period stood as the game-winner. The center also set up Tyson Jost's empty-netter to help secure the win. O'Reilly had gone six contests without a goal prior to Saturday, though he still had three assists in that span. The veteran center is at 25 tallies, 69 points, 144 shots on net, 59 blocked shots and a plus-8 rating over 75 appearances. Hes a point away from reaching 70 for the first time since the 2018-19 campaign with the Blues, when he had a career-best 77 points in 82 regular-season outings.

O'Reilly is a tremendous two-way center who isn't showing his age quite yet. He provided 26 goals and 69 points in 82 contests with the Predators in 2023-24 while typically playing alongside Filip Forsberg. Next season will be a bit of an interesting one because of the Predators' offseason additions of Steven Stamkos and Jonathan Marchessault. Will they disrupt the O'Reilly-Forsberg duo at even strength? How potent will the Predators' top power-play unit, which will likely include O'Reilly alongside Forsberg, Roman Josi and newcomers Stamkos and Marchessault, be? O'Reilly got 28 of his points (14 goals) with the man advantage last year despite the Predators having an average power play, so Nashville's upgrades there might bolster O'Reilly. There are some obvious unknowns here that you'll want to pay close attention to during training camp and the early part of the season, but at the least, O'Reilly seems like a good bet to once again surpass the 60-point mark.

Availability being tracked
O'Reilly, who is dealing with a facial injury, is drawing interest from around the NHL but may not be moved before Friday's trade deadline, Pierre LeBrun of TSN reports.
ANALYSIS
O'Reilly is considered day-to-day with his face injury, so it shouldn't be a factor in trade negotiations around the veteran center. Even if the Ontario native stays in Nashville, he should still be capable of reaching the 70-point threshold for the first time since 2018-19, when he was with the Blues.
