Locked up by Anaheim
Mintyukov signed a five-year, $36 million contract with the Ducks on Sunday, according to PuckPedia.
ANALYSIS
With his new deal, Mintyukov is now the second-highest paid blueliner on the Ducks behind Jackson LaCombe. The 22-year-old Mintyukov appeared in a career-high 73 regular-season games in 2025-26, registering eight goals, 22 points, 79 shots, 112 blocks and a minus-3 rating. The 2022 No. 10 overall pick is set to be a staple in Anaheim's top four while seeing ice time in all situations for years to come.

Past Fantasy Outlooks
2025
2024
Mintyukov showed offensive promise when he recorded 28 points in 63 regular-season appearances with Anaheim in 2023-24, but he dipped to five goals and 19 points across 68 outings last campaign. That’s particularly unfortunate because he doesn’t stand out in any other major fantasy category -- he had 20 PIM, 69 shots, 81 hits and 92 blocks -- so if he’s not producing offensively, then there isn’t much here for managers unless the league is deep. However, he is just 21 years old (22 on Nov. 25), and he still has plenty of upside. Don’t count on him to rebound with a 30-plus point season, especially with Jackson LaCombe likely to start 2025-26 as the blueliner on the top power-play unit, but Mintyukov is worth monitoring.

Latest Fantasy Rumors
Nearing contract extension
Mintyukov, a restricted free agent, is close to getting a contract extension completed with Anaheim, according to Elliotte Friedman of Sportsnet on Sunday.
ANALYSIS
Friedman reported that Mintyukov's new deal will be similar to the five-year, $37 million contract the Kings and Brandt Clarke agreed to June 26. The 22-year-old Mintyukov had eight goals and 22 points in 73 appearances with the Ducks during the 2025-26 regular season. There were threats of an offer sheet heading his way, which probably accelerated the negotiation process.
