2025 Fantasy Outlook
Ekman-Larsson is a steady, top-four blueliner who plays with an edge while still chipping in offensively, and the move to Toronto -- his fourth team in five years -- hasn't changed that. He recorded four goals, 29 points, a plus-14 rating, 52 PIM, 108 hits and 83 blocks across 77 regular-season appearances with the Maple Leafs while averaging 21:04 of ice time in 2024-25. He has finished in the range of 22-32 points across each of his past six campaigns, so his most recent total wasn’t surprising, and given that he’s not too old at the age of 34, he should be able to continue to produce at that rate this season. He should also be good for 40-60 PIM and about 100 hits again, provided he stays healthy. Read Past Outlooks
Snaps six-game point drought
Ekman-Larsson scored a goal Saturday in a 6-3 loss to the Oilers.
ANALYSIS
He wired a shot glove side from the high slot; it put the Leafs up 2-1 early in the second. It was Ekman-Larsson's first point in six games (13 shots). He's on a pace that could see him equal his career mark of 55 points, which he set 10 years ago. His success that season was built on the power play, where he recorded half of his points. Ekman-Larsson is doing it the hard way this year with just three of his 21 points coming with the man advantage.

Ekman-Larsson had nine goals, 32 points, 76 PIM, 123 shots on net, 70 blocked shots and 105 hits in 80 regular-season contests with Florida in 2023-24. He's always been a solid but not great blueliner in terms of offensive production. He's reached the 40-point mark on five occasions, but not since 2018-19, so the 33-year-old is unlikely to hit that milestone in the upcoming campaign. Joining Toronto on a four-year, $14 million contract also isn't expected to help him reach new offensive heights -- he'll likely serve on the Maple Leafs' third pairing and second power-play unit. Still, it wouldn't be surprising to see him record around 30 points again.
