2025 Fantasy Outlook
Jensen accounted for three goals, 21 points, 77 shots, 55 hits and 95 blocks across 71 regular-season appearances in 2024-25. He also suited up in all six of Ottawa’s playoff outings before undergoing hip surgery. Jensen played through the injury for most of the campaign, and it’s unclear if he will be ready for the beginning of the 2025-26 season. Even if he doesn’t miss much time, the defensive-minded defender won’t move the needle much in fantasy leagues and won't need to be stashed on managers' injured reserve lists. Read Past Outlooks
Undergoing knee surgery
Jensen will undergo knee surgery to repair a torn meniscus and will be out for approximately six weeks, per TSN 1200 Ottawa on Tuesday.
ANALYSIS
Jensen may have played his last game this season, as the Senators have an uphill battle to make the playoffs. With his six-week timeline, he wouldn't be available until at least the end of April, so he'll end the regular season with four goals, 17 points, 65 blocked shots and a minus-2 rating over 61 appearances.

Jensen's sixth and final season in Washington didn't go well. He scored just one goal in 78 regular-season games. His overall point production was sliced by more than half, from 29 points in 2022-23 to just 14 points last season. Additionally, his hit total dipped from 107 to 62. None of these numbers have any bearing on fantasy leagues given Jensen wasn't an option to begin with, but the dip in production helps explain why the Capitals willingly shipped him to Ottawa in July in the package to acquire Jakob Chychrun. Jensen will again serve in a middle pairing role for his new club, although he remains a clear fade in all formats.

Latest Fantasy Rumors
Unlikely to rejoin team
Jensen, who will miss the rest of the regular season following knee surgery, may have played in his last game for Ottawa, Bruce Garrioch of Postmedia reports Wednesday.
ANALYSIS
Jensen is in the final season of a three-year deal he signed with the Capitals back in February of 2023, and according to Garrioch, is unlikely to re-sign with the Senators following the 2025-26 campaign. Assuming Ottawa doesn't make the postseason, Jensen will finish the year having generated four goals and 13 assists in 61 contests.
