2025 Fantasy Outlook
Jensen accounted for three goals, 21 points, 77 shots, 55 hits and 95 blocks across 71 regular-season appearances in 2024-25. He also suited up in all six of Ottawa’s playoff outings before undergoing hip surgery. Jensen played through the injury for most of the campaign, and it’s unclear if he will be ready for the beginning of the 2025-26 season. Even if he doesn’t miss much time, the defensive-minded defender won’t move the needle much in fantasy leagues and won't need to be stashed on managers' injured reserve lists. Read Past Outlooks
Set to play
Jensen (upper body) is expected to play against the Kings on Saturday.
ANALYSIS
After leaving Thursday's 5-3 win over Boston early due to an injury, it appears Jensen won't miss additional action. He participated in Friday's practice and Saturday's morning skate, paving the way for him to remain in the lineup. Jensen has supplied one goal, three assists, 13 shots on net, 20 blocked shots and 17 hits across 18 appearances this season.

Jensen's sixth and final season in Washington didn't go well. He scored just one goal in 78 regular-season games. His overall point production was sliced by more than half, from 29 points in 2022-23 to just 14 points last season. Additionally, his hit total dipped from 107 to 62. None of these numbers have any bearing on fantasy leagues given Jensen wasn't an option to begin with, but the dip in production helps explain why the Capitals willingly shipped him to Ottawa in July in the package to acquire Jakob Chychrun. Jensen will again serve in a middle pairing role for his new club, although he remains a clear fade in all formats.

Latest Fantasy Rumors
Still no timeline for return
Jensen, who is recovering from hip surgery, has been skating and working out but remains without a timeline to return in full, Steve Warne of The Hockey News reports Tuesday.
ANALYSIS
Jensen played through the hip issue for much of 2024-25 before undergoing surgery in May. A timeline was not announced after the procedure, which suggests he is at risk of missing the start of the 2025-26 campaign. Jordan Spence and Nikolas Matinpalo are leading candidates for a larger role early in the season if Jensen is unavailable.
