Lamoureux was able to make his NHL debut in 2024-25 when Utah was thin on defense, and he racked up three points with 42 PIM, 18 hits and 11 blocked shots over 15 appearances. He added 13 points in 42 regular-season outings with AHL Tucson. Unless the injury bug bites the Mammoth's blue line hard again in 2025-26, it's unlikely Lamoureux will get much of a chance to play with the big club, as the team added Nate Schmidt and Scott Perunovich as free agents and also has plans to give Dmitri Simashev a look. Prior to Sunday, Lamoureux had gone 19 games without a point. The 22-year-old defenseman has had some troubles this season with just 16 points over 52 outings, which isn't all that much better than his 13-point effort in 42 regular-season contests a year ago. Lamoureux will need to show more on offense to get an extended look in the NHL.

That may still not be enough for the 21-year-old to make the Mammoth's roster out of camp, but it should help him be tougher to play against in the AHL. He had three points in 15 NHL games and 13 points with a minus-6 rating across 42 regular-season appearances for AHL Tucson in 2024-25.
