2025 Fantasy Outlook
After his first full NHL season in 2022-23, during which Beniers put up 57 points, the Kraken's first-ever draft choice has yet to match that production in the two subsequent seasons. In the 2024-25 campaign, the 2023 Calder Trophy winner played all 82 games, but put up just 43 points (20 goals and 23 assists). Beniers could still become Seattle's first star, but the 22-year-old's numbers are disappointing nonetheless. He was signed long-term by the team in the 2024 offseason, and the hard-working center will still be given every opportunity to develop into the game-breaking scorer that the Kraken have lacked. That means big minutes on the power play and in the Kraken's top-six forward group. Should he stay healthy again, getting to 50 points is probably a good expectation to have with the possibility for a big breakout based on his talent. Read Past Outlooks
Finds twine in win
Beniers scored a goal and placed two shots on net in Sunday's 4-2 win over New Jersey.
ANALYSIS
Beniers lit the lamp for the first of two goals across 18 seconds early on in the third period. Overall, he is up to 12 goals, 34 points, 96 shots on net and 43 blocked shots across 51 games this season. After a solid rookie campaign, the No. 2 overall selection in the 2021 NHL Entry Draft is currently putting together one of the best stretches of his four-year career. Since Dec. 22, the 23-year-old center has eight goals, 16 points, 37 shots on net, 10 hits and 15 blocks over 18 games. He tied for the team lead in points with team captain Jordan Eberle, and his high-level category coverage is an added reason as to why he is set up for fantasy success for the remainder of the season. Beniers is a top waiver-wire pickup across fantasy formats while his strong run of play lasts.

2022
After winning the 2023 Calder Trophy, Beniers went through the dreaded sophomore jinx in 2023-24, dropping from 24 goals to 15 and 57 points to 37. He only contributed three assists in his first 11 outings last campaign and struggled with consistency for the entirety of the year. He averaged more ice time per game than his rookie season, playing in the top six and on the first power-play unit, but he couldn't regain his form. Seattle was among the lowest-scoring teams in the league in 2023-24, so Beniers wasn't alone in his struggles. However, he should be able to get back on track in the upcoming campaign. Beniers could be a late-round steal in redraft leagues, and he has the making of a superb buy-low target in keeper formats going into 2024-25.

Suiting up at Worlds
Beniers will join Team USA for the 2025 IIHF World Championship, Alison Lukan of the Kraken Hockey Network reports Wednesday.
ANALYSIS
Beniers was on the 2022 Winter Olympic roster for the United States since, at the time, NHL players weren't able to participate, and will undoubtedly be hoping to edge his way into another call-up four years later. Still, with the full complement of American-born NHL players available, Team USA may go in a different direction, leaving Beniers out, as was the case at the 4 Nations Face-Off.
