2026 Fantasy Outlook
A full season in Colorado was exactly what Necas needed. The 27-year-old turned in his first 100-point campaign, lighting up the league for 38 goals and 62 assists across 78 regular-season games while reaping the benefits of sharing the ice with Nathan MacKinnon and Cale Makar. He added nine goals and 15 assists on the power play, while his plus-47 rating, 206 shots and 85 hits gave fantasy managers something to like outside the points column. Heading into 2026-27, Necas is squarely in his prime and should remain a top-15 fantasy forward, with another 35-goal, 90-point line a reasonable expectation if he and MacKinnon stay healthy together on the top line. Two clutch assists in win
Necas produced two assists, three shots on goal and a plus-2 rating in Wednesday's 4-3 overtime win over the Wild in Game 5.
ANALYSIS
Necas set up Nathan MacKinnon's goal with 1:23 left in the third period and Brett Kulak's game-winner at 3:52 of overtime. This was Necas' fourth multi-point effort over five contests in the second round -- he totaled a goal and eight assists in the series. Overall, he's earned 11 points, 25 shots, 14 hits and a plus-9 rating across nine playoff outings. Necas has been mostly held to playmaking in the postseason, but after scoring 38 goals in the regular season, he's still a threat to shoot that opponents can't ignore.

Necas started the season with Carolina on a torrid pace, racking up 43 points over the team's first 28 games. He cooled down after that, earning just 12 points over the next 21 outings. The right-shot winger was then dealt to Colorado in the Mikko Rantanen deal. It didn't take long for the smooth-skating forward to get on the same page with his new teammates, posting 12 goals and 21 assists over the final 36 contests of the regular season. In the end, the playmaking winger finished with a career-best 83 points (27 goals, 56 assists) over 79 total regular-season appearances. The 2017 first-round selection's dynamic play style translated well to a high-flying Colorado squad, and a full campaign playing with superstars such as Nathan MacKinnon and Cale Makar could help vault Necas' production to another level.

Latest Fantasy Rumors
No urgency in negotiations
Necas and the Avalanche haven't gone beyond initial talks in discussing a new deal, Pierre LeBrun of TSN reports Thursday.
ANALYSIS
According to LeBrun, things haven't gotten so far as to begin the process of trading offers, and both sides seem willing to let the season get underway before truly diving into the details. Still, the Avs will be hesitant to let Necas walk in free agency after acquiring him as part of the Mikko Rantanen deal last season, so look for them to get more aggressive the longer this plays out.
