Gets one-year contract
Schenn signed a one-year, $2.25 million contract with the Canucks on Wednesday.
ANALYSIS
Schenn had a goal, seven points, 43 PIM, 149 hits and 57 blocks in 50 regular-season appearances between Winnipeg and Buffalo in 2025-26. He's returning to the Canucks after playing for them in 2022-23 and part of 2023-24. The 36-year-old blueliner will likely open the upcoming campaign on the third pairing and help with the penalty kill. Schenn should accumulate plenty of PIM and hits as long as he stays healthy and in the lineup.

Schenn came over to the Jets through a pair of trades near the deadline, and while he didn’t produce too many points, brought value in other ways. Between Nashville and Winnipeg, the 35-year-old had just seven points (one goal, six assists) in 76 regular-season contests, but finished with 300 hits and 104 blocked shots. The 17-year NHL veteran is not an offensive threat -- he’s had just three seasons over 20 points in his entire lengthy career -- so he will rely solely on his hits and blocks to generate fantasy value. Without offensive upside, fantasy managers will be better served looking elsewhere aside from leagues that place premiums on those kinds of stats.

Latest Fantasy Rumors
Could go to Buffalo
Schenn is being pursued in trade by the Sabres, David Pagnotta of The Fourth Period reports Thursday.
ANALYSIS
Schenn was a scratch for the Jets on Thursday versus the Lightning. Schenn doesn't add any offense, and with the depth of the Sabres' blue line, he could ultimately end up as an emergency depth option rather than a lineup regular.
