Lucas Raymond

Lucas Raymond

24-Year-Old Right WingRW
Detroit Red Wings
2025 Fantasy Outlook
Raymond broke out in 2023-24 with 31 goals and 72 points across 82 appearances, and he largely repeated that result last season, supplying 27 markers and 80 points across 82 outings. His shooting percentage did dip significantly from a career high of 19.0 in 2023-24 to 14.1 last campaign, but he mostly compensated by setting a new personal best in shots with 192. Raymond also really stepped up with the man advantage in 2024-25 with a career-high 37 power-play points, more than doubling his previous campaign’s total (16), even if it didn’t lead to that big of a jump in overall production. In all, he’s proven to be a great top-line option for Detroit, and he might still have a bit more upside to unlock given that he’s just 23 years old. Read Past Outlooks

Supplies two helpers
RWDetroit Red Wings
April 10, 2026
Raymond notched two assists, including one on the power play, and added four shots on goal, two hits and two PIM in Thursday's 6-3 win over the Flyers.
ANALYSIS
This was Raymond's first multi-point effort since March 2 in Nashville. The 24-year-old winger struggled when the Red Wings were hammered by injuries in March, even though he was able to stay healthy. He's up to 25 goals, 50 assists, 169 shots on net, 43 hits, 28 blocked shots, 22 PIM and a plus-5 rating over 77 appearances this season. Raymond should continue to be a fixture in the top six.

When the Red Wings took Raymond with the No. 4 overall pick in the 2020 NHL Entry Draft, they knew they had a potential star on their hands. It took him some time to get there, but Raymond delivered on that promise in 2023-24, setting career highs with 31 goals and 72 points across 82 contests. It certainly doesn't hurt that Raymond tends to play alongside Dylan Larkin at even strength, which is an arrangement that's likely to continue this season with either Alex DeBrincat or free-agent addition Vladimir Tarasenko likely to round out that line. In a position to succeed and with both the talent and experience to take advantage, the 22-year-old Raymond should do well in his fourth NHL campaign. It wouldn't be surprising to see him even reach the 40-goal and 80-point milestones this season.
Raymond took a bit of a step back in 2022-23 following an impressive rookie campaign, slipping from 23 goals to 17 and dropping from 57 points to 45. Still, there is plenty to like about the talented 21-year-old going into this season. Detroit made improvements to the top-six forward group with the addition of Alex DeBrincat, which should give Raymond a boost on the power play. Whether Raymond plays alongside Dylan Larkin at even strength or not, he has 50-55 point upside going into his third NHL season.
Not a ton went right for the Red Wings a season ago, but the play of their two star freshmen - Raymond and defenseman Moritz Seider - was a major plus. Seider ended up winning the Calder Trophy as NHL Rookie of the Year, while Raymond posted 23 goals and 57 points while playing in all 82 games. The Swede displayed the ability to excel with the man advantage, finishing with 18 power-play points. While Raymond's horrific minus-32 rating is concerning, that was more the result of Detroit being a poor team than anything Raymond did himself. Raymond is a candidate for a bump in production given all the quality talent the Wings added this offseason, so don't hesitate to snatch him up in the middle rounds of fantasy drafts.

ANALYSIS
Raymond steps in as an injury replacement for Nils Hoglander, who withdrew from the competition for an undisclosed injury. The 24-year-old Raymond saw action in 80 regular-season games for the Wings this season, producing 25 goals and 51 assists, including 27 power-play points. It was the fourth time in the youngster's five-year NHL career that he topped the 20-goal mark, a feat he should be able to repeat in 2026-27.
