Logan Stankoven

23-Year-Old CenterC
Carolina Hurricanes
2025 Fantasy Outlook
Stankoven generated 14 goals and 38 points in 78 regular-season appearances between Carolina and Dallas last campaign. He added five tallies and eight points in 15 playoff outings for the Hurricanes after being acquired from the Stars as part of the second Mikko Rantanen trade. The 22-year-old Stankoven was productive in spurts while seeing time in a top-nine role for both teams. He could be a 50-point producer if he plays regularly in the top six, but Carolina’s constant line switches and his offensive inconsistency could result in him slipping to a 40-plus-point display. Stankoven scored a goal Saturday in a 4-2 win over Ottawa in Game 4 of the Eastern Conference First Round.
ANALYSIS
He netted a power-play goal in the third period to break a 1-1 tie. The Hurricanes put in two empty-net tallies late in the game to secure the series sweep. Stankoven scored in each of the four games against the Senators. He's the first player in franchise history to start a postseason with a four-game goal streak. Dating back to the regular season, he has amassed 11 markers and 16 points in his last 12 appearances. Stankoven's four playoff goals tie him with Brandon Hagel of the Lightning for the NHL lead.

Past Fantasy Outlooks
2024
2023
One of the best players in the AHL at the time of his recall, Stankoven joined the Dallas lineup in late February and never looked back. He had 14 points in 24 games before adding eight points in 19 playoff appearances. Shifty and supremely talented, Stankoven, a second-round pick of Dallas in 2021, is widely viewed as one of the better prospects in the league. He seems likely to play this upcoming season in a middle-six role for the Stars, giving him late-round fantasy value in all formats. His value in keeper and dynasty leagues is through the roof given his long-term upside.
The Stars have had some success in integrating young players in recent years, and it could be Stankoven's turn in 2023-24. The 20-year-old played a huge role for his hometown Kamloops Blazers last year, posting 136 points over 66 contests between the regular season, WHL playoffs and Memorial Cup. While he's on the small side for a center, Stankoven could slot in as a middle-six winger if he's able to win a job in training camp this fall. He'll already be on reserve lists in most keeper and dynasty formats, but managers in redraft formats should keep an eye on his play during camp. Even if he needs some time in the AHL, he's not far from being an NHL option.

Extension forthcoming
CCarolina Hurricanes
July 1, 2025
Stankoven and the Hurricanes are close to finalizing a long-term contract extension, Rick Dhaliwal of CHEK reports Tuesday.
ANALYSIS
Stankoven joined the Canes at the trade deadline last year as part of the Mikko Rantanen deal and looks poised to commit himself to the club long term. In his 19 regular-season appearances for the Hurricanes, the 22-year-old forward notched five goals and four assists, including two power-play points. Stankoven added another eight points in 15 playoff outings and should remain in a middle-six role heading into the 2025-26 campaign.
