2025 Fantasy Outlook
The Blues acquired Mailloux this offseason in a one-for-one trade for Zachary Bolduc, who was a proven NHL player who had 36 points in 72 regular-season games last year. That shows the belief that the Blues have in Mailloux, who has just eight NHL games to his name, to be an impact piece on the blue line. At the very least, he injects some much-needed youth into the equation, and he'll likely slot into the lineup right away, but how high up in the lineup that will be remains to be seen. The 22-year-old displayed good offensive potential over the past two seasons with AHL Laval, scoring 80 points in 135 games, and now will look to do so in an everyday role in the NHL. From a fantasy standpoint, he's a high-risk option since his ceiling might be limited by a lack of power-play time with the other options that the Blues have, but his potential is certainly worth a flier towards the end of drafts in deeper leagues. Latest Fantasy Rumors
Expected to remain in NHL
Mailloux was informed by the team that he should find a permanent place to live in St. Louis, Lou Korac of NHL.com reports Tuesday, indicating he won't be headed for the minors any time soon.
ANALYSIS
Mallioux was acquired by the Blues from the Canadiens in the offseason, so it shouldn't come as a surprise to see the organization wanting to see what the blueliner has to offer. In his eight NHL outings, the 22-year-old Ontario native has generated two goals, three assists and 12 shots. With Mailloux entrenched on the roster, Matt Kessel figures to find himself in the press box more often than not.
