Slaggert didn't show much improvement at the NHL level in 2024-25, posting six points, 34 shots on net, 23 PIM and 25 hits over 33 appearances. He was better with AHL Rockford in his first full professional season, earning 25 points over 39 regular-season games. Slaggert is not a lock for the Blackhawks' Opening Night roster, but it's safe to assume he'll see some NHL time. With this effort, Slaggert doubled his point total at the NHL level this season -- he's at two goals and two helpers through 17 appearances. He's added 15 shots on net, 12 PIM, 29 hits and a plus-3 rating while mainly playing in a bottom-six role. The 23-year-old is waivers-exempt, so he could lose his roster spot once Connor Bedard (shoulder) is ready to return, though the Blackhawks are carrying just 22 players on the NHL roster currently and would not be forced to make a move to activate Bedard.

2024 Fantasy Outlook
After a four-year career at Notre Dame, Slaggert signed a two-year, entry-level contract with the Blackhawks and immediately was thrown into the Chicago lineup. He managed a goal and three assists in 16 games at the NHL level, after picking up 20 goals and 11 assists in 36 games with the Fighting Irish. Slaggert is in a battle for a roster spot heading into training camp and it will be no surprise if the Blackhawks decide to send him to AHL Rockford to play as much as he can, rather than see limited minutes in the NHL. Without a clear role at the NHL level, Slaggert is unlikely to offer much fantasy value this season but should be under consideration in dynasty formats.
