2025 Fantasy Outlook
The Blues struggled early in the year, but Binnington's starting role was never in doubt. He had a .897 save percentage through the end of December, but improved to a .905 save percentage from January through the end of the regular season, helping the Blues march into the playoffs. He then gave a good effort in the first-round series loss to the Presidents' Trophy-winning Jets. Binnington is a firm No. 1 goalie, but his numbers are usually in the range of average to slightly above average, as his 2.69 GAA and .900 save percentage in 2024-25 show. Joel Hofer can poach some starts as the backup, but Binnington should have no trouble playing in 50-55 games in 2025-26. Read Past Outlooks
Ugly showing in win
Binnington stopped 18 of 23 shots in Tuesday's 7-5 win over the Penguins.
ANALYSIS
A heavily rotated Penguins lineup still managed to make some noise in this contest, leaving Binnington with an ugly line. This was the first time since before the Olympic break that he allowed more than three goals. The 32-year-old netminder is at a 13-20-7 record with a 3.33 GAA and an .873 save percentage over 41 outings this season, but he made significant progress later in the campaign. The Blues' last game is Thursday in Utah.

Binnington quietly put up the best season of his career in 2023-24, and he cemented himself as one of the NHL's top-10 netminders. He played in 57 games, delivering a 28-21-5 record and .913 save percentage. His goals saved above expected (GSAx) was a lofty 29.74, good for second-best in the NHL. Binner and Joel Hofer formed arguably the top goalie tandem in the NHL last season and will likely do the same again in 2024-25. The only caveat? Hofer's game will continue to grow and that means Binnington might find himself in a 60/40 split for starts. Even then, the veteran could turn in a season like 2019-20 when he won 30 games in just 50 starts. Binnington isn't a top-eight fantasy netminder, but he'll deliver real value for his draft position.
