John Leonard

Leonard wasn't able to secure an NHL-level deal in 2024-25, instead spending the campaign with AHL Charlotte. The Panthers' depth in the NHL played a large role in that, but Leonard did his part with the farm team, racking up 61 points in 72 regular-season games and another 14 points in 18 playoff outings. The 27-year-old looks too good to be just a career minor-leaguer, but he has struggled to secure NHL minutes with three organizations, totaling 17 points in 70 career appearances. Look for Leonard to compete for a bottom-six job with the Red Wings in training camp, though he's unlikely to be an everyday player for Detroit this year.
