2025 Fantasy Outlook
When teams draft a forward in the first round, you’d usually assume it’s someone with top-six potential, but that was never necessarily the case for Beecher. Taken by Boston with the No. 30 overall pick in 2019, Beecher is more of a defensive option, and the Bruins have used him primarily in a bottom-six capacity since he made his NHL debut during the 2023-24 campaign. He finished last season with three goals, 11 points, 26 PIM, 44 shots, 85 hits and 71 blocks across 78 outings. Beecher shouldn’t be expected to do meaningfully better this campaign, so if you aren’t in a deep enough fantasy league to find appeal in his 2024-25 numbers, then you’ll probably want to pass on him. Beecher (upper body) was placed on injured reserve Tuesday, per the NHL media site.
ANALYSIS
Beecher is week-to-week due to the injury. He missed Monday's 5-1 loss to Seattle after receiving a one-game suspension for roughing Nashville's Michael McCarron on Saturday. However, he is facing an extended absence after getting injured in Saturday's 4-3 loss to the Predators. Beecher has one goal, two assists, 21 shots on net, 18 blocked shots and 18 hits in 25 games between the Flames and Bruins this season.

Past Fantasy Outlooks
2024
2019
A first-round pick (No. 30 overall) of the Bruins in 2019, Beecher made his NHL debut last season and was a regular for the club from mid-March on. He appeared in 52 regular-season games, posting seven goals and 10 points. Beecher also suited up for 11 of 12 postseason contests for Boston. Blessed with blazing speed, Beecher has transitioned nicely to a bottom-six role. He's slated to serve as the fourth-line center for the B's in 2024-25, although he doesn't project to have any fantasy value in the process.
Since being taken 30th overall by the Bruins at the 2019 NHL Entry Draft, Beecher's star has been on the rise. His first-round selection, originally viewed by some as a bit of a reach, now looks like a strong one following the 6-foot-3, 210-pounder's outstanding performance in this year's World Junior Summer Showcase. While the 18-year-old center worked as a bottom-six forward with the USA Hockey National Team Development Program Under-18 team last season, he was given the opportunity to play in a top-six role during the WJSS, and responded by scoring four goals in five games. Beecher, who is bound for the University of Michigan this fall, is years (not months) away from an NHL job, but if he is able to fully harness his excellent size/speed combo and continue to develop his scoring touch, he could end up centering Boston's first or second line down the road.

Steve Conroy of the Boston Herald reports Sunday that Beecher will re-sign with the Bruins.
ANALYSIS
Beecher accounted for three goals, 11 points, 26 PIM, 71 blocked shots, 85 hits and a minus-9 rating over 78 appearances last season. If he remains with the Bruins, he's more than likely to continue to fill a fourth-line role in 2025-26.
