Farabee didn't get off to a good start in 2024-25, and that ended up leading to the end of his time with the Flyers, who traded him to the Flames in January. Overall, Farabee ended up with 25 points in 81 games, half as much offense as he had the year before. There's some important context here -- the Flyers were a heavily defensive team, while the Flames had a lot of trouble on offense, meaning neither team was a good fit for the winger. Farabee has a 50-point season under his belt, but that could be asking too much if he continues to see time in a third-line role in Calgary. His shooting percentage should rebound from the 7.3 percent mark he posted last year, and he could be a 15-20 goal player if he gets back around his usual level. With four NHL campaigns under his belt, Farabee took a decent step forward last season, posting 22 goals and 55 points to break his previous career high of 39 points. That fact that he had any offensive increase at all was a testament to the 24-year-old's developing skills, given that his playing time actually dropped to an average of 16:11 from 17:01 in 2022-23. Unfortunately for Farabee, it's not clear if there will be an opportunity for him to get more choice minutes this year in an environment where the 22-year-old Tyson Foerster will also be competing for a bigger role and top prospect Matvei Michkov might crack the lineup while serving in a middle-six capacity. Farabee should still get enough work to flirt with the 50-point mark again but hoping for anything more than that would be risky.
