The move from Boston in 2023-24 to Florida last season didn’t lead to Boqvist reaching new heights in points, but he did shatter his previous career high in hits, finishing the 2024-25 regular season with 191 in 78 appearances -- up from his previous personal best of 71 hits -- to go along with his 12 goals, 23 points, 14 PIM and 87 shots. However, Boqvist found himself in the press box for 10 of Florida’s final 16 playoff games, which isn’t exactly an endorsement of his game. If he plays regularly in Florida’s bottom six, he might be able to exceed the 20-point and 100-hit marks again, but depending on how healthy the Panthers are, there’s a risk of him occasionally being a healthy scratch. He may never get a better opportunity than he has right now, as he's mostly been a bottom-six player throughout his career.

A limited role in his lone year in Boston did Boqvist no favors, as he produced just 14 points over 47 regular-season contests while averaging 11:09 of ice time per game. He was not tendered a qualifying offer, but he found a landing spot in Florida in free agency, coincidentally joining his brother Adam with the Panthers as the defending champions restocked their depth. The elder Boqvist, Jesper, is likely to once again fill a bottom-six role, and it seems he'll have a better chance of sticking in the lineup with the Panthers. Still, he's not going to get impactful minutes to produce offense and he can be left undrafted in fantasy.
