Inks five-year contract
Dickinson signed a five-year, $20 million contract with Edmonton on Sunday.
ANALYSIS
Dickinson had seven goals, 17 points, 73 shots on net, 50 blocked shots and 85 hits across 64 regular-season appearances between Edmonton and Chicago in 2025-26. He also had two goals and one assist in four playoff outings for the Oilers. During the 2026-27 campaign, Dickinson will probably occupy a bottom-six role and see plenty of time on the penalty kill.

After setting career highs in 2023-24 with 22 goals and 35 points across 82 appearances with Chicago, Dickinson took a step back last year, finishing with seven goals and 16 points in 59 outings. Injuries played a role in that decline, but that's a big backslide even if you just look at it from the perspective of points per game. There is room for him to do somewhat better in 2025-26, but the 30-year-old is a defensive center and is unlikely to ever hit the 20-goal mark again after averaging 11 tallies per 82 games since the start of his NHL career. He might provide you with about 40 PIM and 125 hits, though.

Latest Fantasy Rumors
Heading to Edmonton?
Dickinson is being discussed in trade talks between the Blackhawks and the Oilers, Elliotte Friedman of Sportsnet reports Wednesday.
ANALYSIS
The two teams just linked up on a Connor Murphy deal, and it looks like another move could be in the works. Dickinson would address the Oilers' need for a defensively responsible center, especially since Curtis Lazar is out for four weeks due to an undisclosed injury.
