Jaret Anderson-Dolan

Anderson-Dolan inked a two-year contract with the Jets in July after the Predators didn't give him a qualifying offer. The 24-year-old center was selected 41st overall in the 2017 NHL Draft by the Kings, but he was never able to crack the line for any sustained period during his six-year stay in LA. Anderson-Dolan was claimed off waivers by the Predators in March, but he saw action in only one NHL game for Nashville, after picking up a goal and three assists in 30 games with the Kings. His best season was two years ago when he managed to score seven goals and add five assists in 46 games. Anderson-Dolan comes to Winnipeg as a depth forward, who will likely see fourth-line action or be a healthy scratch, barring a slew of injuries.

Anderson-Dolan spent the entirety of last season with the Kings but appeared in just 46 games, filling a bottom-six role and managing seven goals, a dozen points and a minus-11 rating. A declined to make Anderson-Dolan a qualifying offer, making him an unrestricted free agent, but the 23-year-old ended up resigning with the Kings anyway, inking a one-year, $775K contract with the club. Anderson-Dolan should have a chance to play regularly for LA in 2023-24, but his usage won't be enough for the 2017 second-rounder to amass fantasy value in any format.

Anderson-Dolan would be at least a mid-tier prospect in most every NHL organization, but because he plays for a Kings team loaded with young players he finds himself as more of a depth option. Anderson-Dolan played all of last season at age 21, posting seven goals and 11 points in 34 games for LA. Those numbers look decent on the surface, but Anderson-Dolan managed just 37 shots on goal in 34 games, good for an 18.9 shooting percentage. It's a number that will drop moving forward, leaving Anderson-Dolan in a tough spot in terms of potential fantasy production. He makes for a worthwhile hold in keeper/dynasty leagues but that's about it.

A second-round pick in 2017, Anderson-Dolan plays a slick two-way game highlighted by his speed, and the kid thinks as fast as he skates. Still only 19 years old, JAD played five games for the Kings in October before being sent back to the WHL, where he missed two months for Spokane due to a wrist injury. He was productive when he was on the ice, though, and with his junior eligibility exhausted, Anderson-Dolan could break camp on the NHL roster as the team commits to getting younger and faster. In the long run, he profiles as a second-line center who can make an impact in all three zones.
