McCann finished 2024-25 with 22 goals and 61 points in 82 outings, making it his third straight campaign of at least 60 points. Seattle isn’t known for its offense, but McCann is the squad’s best weapon. There is a minor x-factor here because McCann underwent surgery over the summer due to an undisclosed issue that he dealt with during the season. His projected recovery time was six weeks after undergoing the surgery April 21, so McCann should be fine for training camp, but if there are any setbacks, then it might negatively impact his summer training or even put his early availability into question. However, barring further details, that worry isn’t a big enough reason to avoid McCann, and he should still be penciled in to record about 20 goals, 60 points and 200 shots in 2025-26. McCann is up to eight goals, 14 points (five on the power play), 43 shots on net, 15 hits and a plus-3 rating across 17 outings this season. As long as he can stay healthy, he should be productive for fantasy managers -- his most recent return from a lower-body injury has breathed some life into the Kraken's offense over the last couple of weeks.

McCann failed to replicate his 40-goal, 70-point campaign from 2022-23, picking up 29 goals and 62 points over 80 contests in 2023-24. His shot volume was steady, but his conversation rate dropped from 19.0 percent to 13.4 percent, which almost wholly explains his slight drop in offense. All things considered, the 28-year-old has three straight years over the 50-point mark since the Kraken took him in their expansion draft. McCann's role is simple -- he's in the lineup to be a finisher in a top-six role and on the power play. He can also kill penalties and should be capable of flirting with another 30-goal campaign, and a little more success for his teammates could get him back to the 70-point mark. Look for McCann to play exclusively on the wing this year given the Kraken's wealth of center depth.
