2026 Projections
Moving north on two-year deal
Oleksiak signed a two-year, $10 million contract with the Canucks on Wednesday.
ANALYSIS
After five years with the Kraken, Oleksiak will head north of the border. He produced five goals, 10 assists, 77 shots on net, 36 PIM, 112 hits, 106 blocked shots and a plus-9 rating over 78 outings with Seattle last season. Oleksiak will likely fill at least part of the role previously occupied by Marcus Pettersson, who Vancouver dealt to the Rangers on Wednesday. Oleksiak carries some fantasy value in banger leagues but has topped the 20-point mark just once in his career.

Oleksiak has been as reliable as they come recently, playing in all 82 regular-season games for two years in a row. He recorded four goals, 17 points, 34 PIM, 66 shots, 74 hits and 159 blocks while averaging 18:47 of ice time with the Kraken in 2024-25. The 13-year NHL veteran is entering the final season of his contract, so he’ll likely be motivated to put up a good season, but he is not an offensive dynamo -- Oleksiak has eclipsed 20 points just once in his career -- and that’s likely not to change at this stage of his career. Instead, the 32-year-old is more known as a trusted penalty killer, minutes muncher and shot blocker, things that might help teams in the NHL, but are not necessarily what most fantasy managers are seeking.

ANALYSIS
Oleksiak drew into all 82 games with the Kraken in 2023-24, picking up 15 points, 110 hits and 177 blocks over that span. The 31-year-old will remain an important defensive presence with limited offensive upside for Seattle in 2024-25.
