Jacob Melanson

Melanson's steady offense in junior hasn't translated to the professional ranks, which has limited his potential. He's earned just 31 points in 104 regular-season games with AHL Coachella Valley, as well as nine points in 24 playoff outings for the minor-league club. At the NHL level, Melanson has made just one appearance, logging four hits in 9:53 of ice time in his debut for the Kraken last March. The 2021 fifth-rounder brings plenty of physicality in his play, but he doesn't look like he'll ever develop into a significant scoring threat, so his ceiling would likely be on the third line.
