2025 Fantasy Outlook
Bryson has established himself in the NHL as a role player who fits into the sixth or seventh slot on a team’s blue line. He served in that capacity for Buffalo in 2024-25, recording seven assists, 10 PIM, 20 shots, 15 hits and 51 blocks across 48 outings. The 27-year-old’s (28 on Nov. 18) position doesn’t figure to be any better this season, so it wouldn’t be surprising if he finishes below the 10-point mark for the fourth straight campaign. He is an okay source of blocks when he is in the lineup, so he might offer some value there in the deepest of fantasy leagues. Read Past Outlooks

Bryson (upper body) was designated for injured reserve Friday, Rachel Lenzi of The Buffalo News reports.
ANALYSIS
Bryson finds himself facing a second long-term stint on the sidelines after he missed nine games earlier in the year while in the concussion protocol. Considering the blueliner has just two points in his last 22 outings, and has periodically served as a healthy scratch, few fantasy managers are likely to be impacted by his absence. With the available roster spot, the Sabres called up Zac Jones from the minors.

Past Fantasy Outlooks
2024
2023
Bryson is a depth defenseman that the Sabres can plug into the lineup when there's an injury or someone needs a game off, but the 26-year-old (27 on Nov. 18) isn't expected to get utilized beyond that. He recorded a goal, eight points, 40 blocked shots and 17 hits across 36 appearances with Buffalo in 2023-24 while averaging 14:41 of ice time. There's no guarantee that he'll feature in as many games in 2024-25, but if circumstances do push Buffalo to dress Bryson with regularity, then the blueliner will pick up a good number of blocks.
