2025 Fantasy Outlook
Taken with the No. 57 overall pick in the 2020 NHL Draft, Finley got his first taste of NHL action Jan. 14, when he recorded one shot and one hit across 8:25 of ice time in Tampa Bay’s 6-2 loss to Boston. He otherwise spent the full 2024-25 regular season in the minors, collecting 14 goals, 28 points and 24 PIM in 40 appearances with AHL Syracuse. Although Finley isn’t likely to ever be much of an offensive contributor, the 22-year-old (23 on Sept. 2) is 6-foot-6 and 220 pounds, so his size is obviously appealing. He has the potential to eventually be a solid bottom-six option for Tampa Bay, but Finley is unlikely to play in the NHL this year unless injuries create an opportunity for him. Read Past Outlooks
Limited success late in year
Finley had just two assists over 22 games to close out the 2025-26 regular season.
ANALYSIS
Finley was claimed off waivers by the Blues after posting three points in 22 contests for the Lightning. The 23-year-old saw bottom-six minutes for both teams, so he didn't exactly get a chance to showcase a wider range of skills. He produced 26 shots on net, 75 hits and 38 PIM on the year. Finley still has two years on his contract, so he'll be in competition for a depth role with the Blues to begin 2026-27.
