2026 Fantasy Outlook
Sorokin is an elite netminder waiting for his team to match. His play alone wasn't enough to get the Islanders back in the postseason, but the building blocks are there for them to be competitive moving forward. Sorokin went 29-24-2 with a 2.68 GAA and a .906 save percentage over 55 appearances in 2025-26. There's no question he'll be firmly in a starting role as long as he stays healthy in 2026-27, but any gains he makes will likely be a result of improved team performance. Sorokin should be capable of challenging for the 30-win mark while keeping his GAA around 2.60 and his save percentage in the .905-.910 range. He'll be an early-to-middle-round pick in most formats due to his workload and established quality. Read Past Outlooks
Gives up four goals
Sorokin stopped 18 of 22 shots in Sunday's 4-1 loss to the Canadiens.
ANALYSIS
Sorokin was beaten three times in a 55-second span in the second period, and that was a hole the Islanders couldn't come back from. Ultimately, this defeat means the Islanders won't be playing in the postsesaon, and thus, it's unclear if Sorokin will get the start in the regular-season finale against the Hurricanes on Tuesday. He has started every one of the last 14 games for the Isles, going 5-9-0 with a 3.17 GAA and an .882 save percentage in that span.

2020
Sorokin made small improvements in 2024-25 compared to his career-worst 2023-24 campaign. In 61 appearances last season, the netminder had a 30-24-6 record with a 2.71 GAA and a .907 save percentage. The Islanders rarely gave him much scoring support to work with, but it's encouraging to see him partially get back to the level he established in his first three campaigns. He was also largely healthy in 2024-25, which helps his outlook moving forward. He'll be a reliable fantasy option due to his workload, though he won't weigh down any fantasy team's stats as long as the Islanders are at least around the playoff bubble.

Latest Fantasy Rumors
Probable to start final four games?
Sorokin could start all four of the Islanders' final games of the regular season, per Stefen Rosner of NHL.com on Wednesday.
ANALYSIS
If Sorokin does get the nod in all four games, that would see him take both ends of a back-to-back against the Senators and Canadiens on Saturday and Sunday, respectively. The 30-year-old backstop has already played in 11 straight outings for the club, going 4-7- 0, which includes his current four-game losing streak.
