ANALYSIS
Brisebois failed to register an appearance with the Canucks last season after missing most of the year due to a lower-body injury. The blueliner did eventually log nine regular-season outings with AHL Abbotsford in which he notched one goal and one assist. If he can stay healthy, Brisebois should be on the short list of potential call-ups, though he still figures to play most of his minutes in the minors.

Brisebois is an organizational depth defenseman. In the event of injury, he can be called up to fill in, but that doesn’t happen a lot. The 28-year-old has logged just 30 career NHL regular-season games, including three with Vancouver last year. When he is in the lineup, Brisebois doesn’t do much offensively -- he has three points across those 30 games -- but he has blocked a respectable 42 shots over those NHL appearances. Although his NHL resume is sparse, he has value to AHL Abbotsford, appearing in all 24 of the squad’s playoff games en route to winning the 2025 Calder Cup. Look for him to once again play regularly for Abbotsford after inking a one-year, two-way contract with Vancouver over the summer.
