A fourth-line player notorious for irritating opponents and his rugged style of play, Hathaway had a decent 2024-25 campaign considering the role he fills, contributing 10 goals, 21 points, 58 PIM, 80 shots on net, 61 blocked shots, 257 hits and a plus-5 rating across 67 appearances. The grinder’s limited fantasy value mostly comes in the form of physicality, and that is not likely to change looking ahead to next season. Hathaway’s 19.1 percent of shift starts in the defensive zone last season was the most on the Flyers, which correlates to his role not being conducive to success on the offensive side of the puck. There are very few legitimate difference-makers in terms of the hits category, but Hathaway is one of them. He arrived in Philadelphia last season after splitting the prior year between Washington and Boston and racked up a whopping 324 hits -- a new career-high -- in 82 games. The total placed Hathaway behind only Nashville's Jeremy Lauzon in that category. While not an offensive dynamo by any means, Hathaway is typically good for about 7-10 goals and 20 points, so you get some secondary scoring, as well. Don't be afraid to reach for the 32-year-old on draft day if you need significant help in the hits column.
