Robinson picked a great time for a career year, turning a one-year deal with the Hurricanes into a four-year extension. That should solidify his place as a reliable bottom-six forward who can occasionally hop into the top six when the team wants different looks. Robinson had 32 points in 82 regular-season games, and he added 123 hits and a plus-14 rating. Robinson struggled in 2023-24, but he's exceeded 20 points in three of the last four years, so that provides a reasonable baseline of production. Robinson spent parts of seven seasons in Columbus before being dealt to Buffalo in December. Seeking to add some grit and depth to their bottom six, the Hurricanes inked Robinson to a one-year, $950,000 contract in free agency in July. Robinson's ability to earn a full-time role for Carolina will likely depend on how quickly veteran Jesper Fast recovers from a neck injury suffered late last season.
