Taken with the No. 159 overall pick in the 2019 NHL Entry Draft, Soderblom has never had a secure path to the NHL. Still, he has battled his way forward, leading to him recording five goals and 17 points in 38 regular-season outings with AHL Grand Rapids as well as four goals and 11 points in 26 appearances with Detroit in 2024-25. The 24-year-old is a towering presence at 6-foot-8, 246 pounds. He doesn't get into a ton of trouble despite that size, but he is certainly willing to play a physical game, which led to him getting six PIM and 43 hits with Detroit last year. He might earn a bottom-six spot with Detroit this season and would be a solid candidate for 20-30 points and 125-150 hits if he spends the full campaign in that role. Read Past Outlooks

2024 Fantasy Outlook
Soderblom got his first taste of the NHL in 2022-23 when he played 21 games with the Red Wings, scoring five times while adding three assists. Detroit kept him in the minors for the entire 2023-24 campaign, as he had 13 goals and 29 points in 61 games with Grand Rapids. The 23-year-old has a chance to break training camp with the big club as he is a towering winger - six-foot, six inches and 220 pounds. Should Soderblom make the Red Wings out of camp, it will be as a bottom-six forward at best and thus, he is unlikely to garner any consideration in fantasy drafts.
