2025 Fantasy Outlook
Hamilton was still bothered by injuries in 2024-25, but he was able to avoid a season-ending issue. The defenseman put up nine goals, 31 assists, 15 power-play points, 85 blocked shots, 74 hits and a plus-8 rating over 64 appearances last season, and he was able to shake off a late injury in time to return during the playoffs. Hamilton's injury risk has to be baked into expectations for his production in fantasy, as he's missed significant time in four of the last six seasons. It's also worth acknowledging that Luke Hughes is only going to get better over time, which will infringe on Hamilton's ice time and scoring, especially on the power play, in the coming years. The 32-year-old Hamilton will still be a major factor as a veteran on a young and promising team, but he's not someone fantasy managers should rely on too much. Read Past Outlooks
Extends point streak in OT win
Hamilton scored a goal, placed five shots on goal and served two PIM in Thursday's 3-2 overtime win over the Predators.
ANALYSIS
Hamilton found the back of the net midway through the second period to level the score at one apiece. The 32-year-old has been one of the best offensive blueliners over his last 10 games with 12 points and two multi-point efforts. In that span, he ranks sixth among defensemen in points and is up to 21 points, 131 shots on net, 51 hits and 47 blocks across 49 games this season. The 32-year-old blueliner's campaign took off when trade rumors began to circulate around him, which has likely been an added incentive for him to showcase his best brand of hockey. Regardless of where he ends up after the March 6 trade deadline, Hamilton is back on track to post another quality year after the slow start, which gives him high-level fantasy value the rest of the way.

A long-term pectoral injury that required surgery limited Hamilton to a mere 20 games last season, setting him up as a potential bounce-back candidate heading into 2024-25. Prior to getting hurt, the blueliner was on pace for a second straight 65-point campaign on the heels of a career-best 2022-23 season in which he generated 22 goals and 52 helpers in 82 regular-season contests. The biggest question facing Hamilton heading into training camp was going to be whether he could reclaim a spot on the No. 1 power-play unit after Luke Hughes excelled in that role during his rookie campaign, however, a shoulder injury will now sideline Hughes for the first 6-8 weeks of the season, opening the door for Hamilton to stake claim to that No. 1 spot. Still, if Hamilton finds himself relegated to the second group later in the year, he could struggle to produce at that 60-point pace this season. Free-agent signing Brett Pesce could further cut into Hamilton's minutes, something fantasy managers will want to monitor during the preseason.
