Beantown return in doubt
Heinen is questionable to re-sign with the Bruins this offseason, per Fluto Shinzawa of The Athletic on Monday.
ANALYSIS
Heinen was solid in his second stint in Boston after racking up 17 goals and 19 assists in 74 regular-season contests. The winger was significantly less productive in the postseason, notching a lone helper in eight outings. Even without a spot with the Bruins, Heinen should still have plenty of offers to consider when free agency opens July 1.

Heinen has bounced around since leaving Boston, spending a year-plus with the Ducks before arriving in Pittsburgh last season. He posted a career-high 18 goals in addition to managing 33 points, his highest total since the 2018-19 campaign. Heinen ended up being non-qualified by the Penguins before re-signing with the club on a one-year, $1 million deal. Heinen will return to his middle-six role with the club while also seeing some time on the second power-play unit, although his usage doesn't figure to be high enough to make him an option in anything but the deepest fantasy formats.
