2025 Fantasy Outlook
There was nothing all that remarkable about Cutter Gauthier's rookie season for a few months, but he turned things around when the calendar flipped to March. Gauthier posted eight goals and 19 points over the last 24 games of the year, putting him at a total of 20 goals, 44 points, 190 shots on net and a plus-8 rating in all 82 games in 2024-25. Gauthier's improvement came alongside Mason McTavish, who also surged late in the year. Those two figure to be key players as the Ducks are poised to pivot out of rebuilding mode any year now. A 20-goal season as a rookie is strong work, and Gauthier should have years of development to continue to up his game. A push over the 25-goal and 50-point marks is realistic for 2025-26, especially if he becomes a top-six regular moving forward. Read Past Outlooks

2024 Fantasy Outlook
Taken by the Flyers with the No. 5 overall pick in the 2022 NHL Draft, Philadelphia dealt the prospect to Anaheim in January as part of the Jamie Drysdale trade. Gauthier might eventually be a cornerstone of the Ducks' offense. He was dominant with Boston College last year, scoring 38 goals and 65 points across 41 contests. The 20-year-old then got his first taste of NHL action April 18, recording an assist and three shots over 15:24 of ice time. Although he's not guaranteed a spot going into training camp, Gauthier is entering the preseason with a genuine shot of earning a top-six role. He's among the more promising rookie candidates going into the 2024-25 campaign and wouldn't be a bad option to grab toward the end of drafts in standard fantasy leagues.

Named to USA roster
Gauthier will play for the United States at the 2025 IIHF World Championship, the team announced Thursday.
ANALYSIS
Gauthier was part of the World Junior Championship roster for the United States, racking up two goals and 10 assists in seven games. In his rookie campaign, the 21-year-old winger produced 20 goals and 24 helpers in all 82 regular-season games. He should be capable of building upon those numbers next year, making him a top-half fantasy target in 2025-26.
