2025 Fantasy Outlook
Geekie didn't make much noise offensively in his rookie season (just eight goals and six assists in 52 games), but don't sleep on his upside. The 11th overall pick in 2022 flashed his scoring chops in the AHL with 11 goals and nine assists in just 24 regular-season games in 2024-25. Tampa Bay is banking on a big second-year leap, and with his size, skill, and pedigree, there's every reason to believe Geekie could carve out a bigger role in 2025-26. He's not a draft-day priority, but he's absolutely worth a late-round sleeper selection in fantasy drafts. Read Past Outlooks

Geekie seems to be trending toward making Tampa Bay's Opening Night roster, Eduardo A. Encina of the Tampa Bay Times reports Sunday.

Although Geekie said Sunday that he hasn't yet been told whether he'll be with the Lightning to begin the regular season, he drew praise from coach Jon Cooper following a strong preseason. Geekie was the No. 11 overall pick in the 2022 NHL Entry Draft but hasn't yet made his NHL debut. The 20-year-old worked on the third line and second power-play unit during Sunday's practice session. Geekie could help provide a spark early in the season if he's included on Tampa Bay's roster.
