Caufield potted a career-high 37 goals and hit the 70-point mark for the first time during the 2024-25 regular season while appearing in every game for a second consecutive year. His shooting percentage jumped from 8.9 to 15.5, but he probably won’t see a dramatic drop in that area in 2025-26, as his career average now stands at 12.7, making his 2023-24 efficiency the bigger outlier. Caufield’s goal total also got a boost from a career-best 10 power-play tallies, though his production with the man advantage slowed after a productive start, as seven of his power-play goals came over the first 27 games of the season. With five goals and a helper over his last four contests, Caufield has picked up right where he left off at the Olympic break. The 25-year-old winger has matched his career high of 37 goals, set last year, and he's at 63 points (21 on the power play), 187 shots on net, 44 hits and a plus-22 rating through 61 appearances in 2025-26.

Caufield has had a lot of up-and-downs for a player who is still just 23. He struggled mightily during the first half of 2021-22 before finding his game after Martin St. Louis took over as the bench boss. In the end, he finished with 23 goals and 43 points across 67 contests, but the potential to do far better was there in 2022-23. Instead, he was limited to 46 games due to injury, resulting in him supplying 26 goals and 36 points. The 2023-24 was the first time when the Wisconsin native was both healthy and consistent, leading to him setting new career highs with 28 goals and 65 points in 82 outings. That still might not be his best. Most notably, he had a shooting percentage of 8.9 in 2023-24 -- the lowest of his career by a significant margin - and likely suffered from some bad puck luck. As long as Caufield stays healthy, it wouldn't be surprising to see him surpass the 30-goal and 70-point marks for the first time.
