He was sent back to OHL Oshawa, racking up 70 points over 47 regular-season appearances and another 25 points in 21 playoff contests. During that time, his NHL rights were flipped to the Islanders in a trade that sent Brock Nelson to Colorado. Ritchie may still be a bit away from being an NHL regular, but he should have more room to grow with the Islanders. ANALYSIS
While Ritchie was deemed day-to-day with his lower-body problem, a return to the lineup against the Rangers on Thursday in the second half of the back-to-back seems unlikely. Prior to getting hurt, Ritchie had produced four assists in his last five outings, which should be enough get him back into the lineup despite the team's acquisition of Ondrej Palat from New Jersey on Tuesday.
