Carolina Hurricanes
2026 Fantasy Outlook
Given the opportunity to play in the NHL, Bussi proved himself. He went 31-6-2 with a 2.47 GAA and an .894 save percentage over 39 regular-season games before ceding the crease to Frederik Andersen in the playoffs. However, Andersen is a free agent, while Bussi earned himself a three-year contract extension that suggests he'll be part of the Hurricanes' plans for a while. There are some concerns with his play. Bussi went 8-3-1 after the Olympic break but had a 3.16 GAA and an .865 save percentage over those 12 games. Carolina's structure suffocates opposing teams, leading to low save percentages for its goalies. Heading into 2026-27, Bussi will likely be no more than a timeshare goalie, as the Hurricanes also have Pyotr Kochetkov on the roster, even if Andersen is allowed to walk. Bussi can play, but how often remains to be seen. Read Past Outlooks
Signed a three-year, $5.7 million contract extension with the Hurricanes in February of 2026.
Clinches Stanley Cup with shutout

June 14, 2026
Bussi posted a 22-save shutout in Sunday's 3-0 win over the Golden Knights in Game 6 of the Stanley Cup Finals.
ANALYSIS
Bussi won the last three games of the series to finish what Frederik Andersen started. The Hurricanes' defense did its part, and Bussi handled the rest to post his first career playoff shutout in the biggest game of his life. He allowed just six goals on 87 shots (.931 save percentage) over his four playoff appearances to help the Hurricanes win the Stanley Cup. After signing a three-year contract extension in February, Bussi is a virtual lock to open 2026-27 on the Hurricanes' NHL roster.
