2025 Fantasy Outlook
After setting career highs in 2023-24 with 49 goals and 120 points in 82 regular-season outings, Panarin took a step back last year with 37 goals and 89 points across 80 appearances. It didn’t help that the Rangers had a rough season overall, but it’s still fair to say that 2024-25 is more representative of what we should expect from the Russian forward in the future compared to 2023-24. That’s partially because age is starting to creep up on him -- he'll turn 34 on Oct. 30 -- and partially because that 2023-24 campaign was such an outlier. Outside of that season, he’s never reached the 40-goal or 100-point marks. Panarin is still an elite forward, and he’ll have some extra motivation going into his contract season, but it’s better to think of him as being one step below the NHL’s cream of the crop when it comes to raw offensive production. Picks up trio of points
Panarin tallied a goal, registered two power-play assists and placed two shots on net in Saturday's 6-4 loss to New Jersey.
ANALYSIS
Panarin was a part of history Saturday, as he slid the primary helper on Anze Kopitar's 1,308th point to set the new Kings' franchise record. Panarin's trio of points brought him up to 22 goals, 47 assists and 184 shots on net across 62 games this season. The 34-year-old's move to Los Angeles has gotten off to a strong start, where he has nine assists, 12 points and 26 shots on net across 10 games. As the Kings make a push for a playoff spot in the Pacific Division, Panarin is set to operate at the heart of the offense and holds elite fantasy value for the remainder of the regular season.

Panarin achieved new heights offensively in 2023-24. He only had three 30-goal seasons before potting a career-high 49 tallies last campaign. He also had three 90-plus point performances before erupting for a personal-best 120 points across 82 outings. The 32-year-old forward was also just one of nine players to surpass 300 shots on goal, with a career-high total of 303. Panarin accumulated 44 points on the man advantage, which tied for third in the league. He has recently become one of the bigger threats on the power play, sitting fifth overall with 91 points since 2020-21. Even if he doesn't reach the 100-point mark again in 2024-25, which is a distinct possibility, Panarin has proven to be a reliable offensive force for fantasy managers, making him worthy of a high selection.

Latest Fantasy Rumors
Working on extension with Kings
Panarin and the Kings are working on a contract extension, Pierre LeBrun of TSN reports Wednesday.
ANALYSIS
Panarin was traded to the Kings from the Rangers on Wednesday, and although the two sides didn't have an extension in place at the time of the trade, they had discussions and seem to be progressing toward an agreement. Panarin and his camp only gave the green light to be traded to the Kings, which signals that the 34-year-old has interest in remaining in Los Angeles beyond the 2025-26 campaign.
