2026 Fantasy Outlook
Svechnikov's 2025-26 looked a lot more like the player Carolina drafted second overall back in 2018. The 26-year-old winger posted 31 goals and 39 assists across 79 regular-season games, his most productive output in years, and tossed in 12 power-play goals, 203 shots and 148 hits for genuine multi-category appeal. The plus-1 rating is light for a Hurricanes regular, but the goal total and physical edge more than compensate in formats that reward hits and PIM. If he holds a top-six role alongside center Sebastian Aho, another 30-goal, 65-point campaign is a fair expectation for 2026-27. Draft him comfortably as a mid-round winger whose floor includes 140-plus hits and around 200 shots. Read Past Outlooks
Tallies twice in Game 5 win
Svechnikov scored a pair of power-play goals and added two hits in Thursday's 4-2 win over the Golden Knights in Game 5 of the Stanley Cup Finals.
ANALYSIS
Svechnikov put the Hurricanes ahead with his second-period tally and added an insurance goal in the third. This was his first multi-point effort since Game 3 of the second round versus the Flyers. The winger is up to six goals, 11 points, 50 shots, 68 hits, 24 PIM and a minus-3 rating over 18 playoff outings. With members of the top line scoring three of the Hurricanes' four goals Thursday, Svechnikov's offense looks to be activated just in time to help close out the series.

Although Svechnikov was able to play in 72 regular-season games last season, his highest total since 2021-22, he managed just 48 points, making this his worst showing in terms of points per game since his 2018-19 rookie campaign. He did pick things up in the 2025 playoffs with eight goals and 12 points across 15 outings, but between his growing injury history and inconsistent offensive production, it’s difficult to count on him. He’s still just 25 years old, and the talent is there, so while fantasy managers can pencil him in for 50-60 points, there is the potential for him to exceed that range. He also should finish 2025-26 with over 50 PIM and 140 hits -- totals he’s exceeded in each of the previous four campaigns -- which gives him some extra versatility in leagues that use either of those categories.

Latest Fantasy Rumors
Denies being open to trade
Svechnikov stated Tuesday that there is no validity to reports he was displeased and open to being traded earlier this season, according to Chip Alexander of The Raleigh News & Observer.
ANALYSIS
Svechnikov skated in a fourth-line role early in the year, which probably resulted in the aforementioned rumors, but he has since moved up to the top line alongside Sebastian Aho and Seth Jarvis. The 25-year-old Svechnikov has played well of late, producing five goals and nine points over his last 10 games after notching just three points across his first 12 appearances in 2025-26.
